Distributing idapi with your exe

Question: Is IDAPI necessary for data access in BCB? Can you 'bundle' IDAPI inside of a BCB EXE so that your distributed application does not need to install IDAPI on your user's computers? Answer: IDAPI is necessary for data access in BCB. BCB comes with InstallShield express that allows you to create an installable image that will include the needed IDAPI redistrubutabl files.
